Lake Forest Country Club Set to Host the 92nd Annual Championship

Lake St. Louis, MO– The 92nd Annual Ladies National Golf Association (LNGA) Amateur Championship is set to take place this coming Tuesday through Thursday (July 26-28) at Lake Forest Country Club. (Par 72, 6452 yards)

The 91 player field from 22 states and five countries including Sweden, Australia, Canada, United Arab Emirates, and Argentina will be made up of mostly collegiate players representing 49 Universities across the United States. These talented players will compete over 54-holes for the George III Amateur Trophy.  Universities with two or more team members are eligible to take home the Howell Team Trophy which is awarded to the University with the lowest 3-day low  score at the end of the tournament. Also, 20 players, ages 18 and under will compete for the prestigious Dorothy Pease Junior Trophy.  

Following Wednesday’s second round, the field will be cut to the low 60 scores and ties after 36 holes are completed. The LNGA Amateur champion and runner-up will be crowned at the end of the final round on Thursday.

Player Highlights:

Lilly Thomas, a senior at University of Tulsa, returns to defend her 2021 LNGA Amateur Championship title. 

Justice Bosio of Queensland, Australia is attending the tournament after finishing in the quarterfinals at the U.S. Junior. At the age of 18, Bosio is ranked 96th on the World Amateur Golf Ranking list, and is looking to add another title to her record. 

Sadie Englemann, a rising sophomore at Stanford, a two-time Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar and member of the 2022 NCAA Championship team. To be named an All-American Scholar, individuals must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher for the entirety of their collegiate career and have played in 50% of the college’s competitive events.
