Lake St. Louis, MO- The 92nd running of the Ladies National Golf Association Amateur Championship began the first round Wednesday morning at Lake Forest Country Club. The ladies finished 18 holes with round two beginning immediately after the completion of the first 18. Play of round two was suspended at 8:35 pm, with play resuming tomorrow at 8 a.m. CT. The championship has been shortened to a 36-hole event due to the severe weather in the area. The 2022 champion will be crowned tomorrow afternoon after play concludes.

Kelly Xu is leading the championship and the run for the Junior Medalist trophy at 6-under 72. Lexanne Halama is following closely in second place at 4-under par. There is currently a four-way tie for third at -2. A fabulous showing by Stanford University at 6-under par puts them first in line for the Howell Team Trophy. Final results and updated press releases will be available on the Ladies National Golf Association website after play concludes tomorrow.
